After the Storm (Working Title)

It seems most prudent for me to do a media campaign. I am going to do a Facebook page possibly titled, "After the Storm." This page will have a collection of short video clips, and commentary by people with the disease of addiction who encounter stressful life events while in recovery, and who did not use drugs.

The mission of this page is to encourage, inspire and inform.

My target audience is anyone who has been affected by the disease of addiction.

My desired outcomes are to construct a page that people will feel comfortable posting on, that the page will generate "likes" and "shares," and that people will be encouraged to stay healthy, will be inspired by the page's content and that the page will inform and educate. I wish to promote hope.

My communication outcomes are to create short effective video productions, to create short useful social media posts, to construct a visually and intellectually attractive page, and to find the courage to maintain transparent, meaningful connection to a diverse audience who have all been affected by the disease of addiction.

The problem that I wish to address is the fallacy that a person with the disease of addiction is immoral. Addiction is a medical issue, and if treated, people with the disease of addiction can do hard things and the disease will remain in remission.

My solution is to promote awareness through personal accounts of people with the disease of addiction doing hard things, and not doing drugs.
